About the role

  • Stantec’s airport team provides a full range of services including concept studies, planning, design, project management, and construction supervision for new airport infrastructure such as runways, taxiways, aprons, service roads, terminals, and hangars, as well as for the rehabilitation and improvement of existing facilities.
  • In recent years, Stantec’s airport group in Quebec has been particularly active with Aéroports de Montréal, Québec City Airport Inc., and with the Government of Canada on Quebec airports owned by Transport Canada.
  • As a civil engineering technician, you will contribute to the design and drafting of airport construction and rehabilitation projects.
  • Specifically, your role will include:
  • Producing plans in CIVIL 3D according to established standards;
  • Participating with the project team in the design of construction and rehabilitation projects for civil infrastructure;
  • Designing drainage surfaces;
  • Designing underground networks (watermain, storm, sanitary);
  • Preparing quantity estimates;
  • Preparing plan and profile drawings;
  • Preparing construction details;
  • Drafting engineers’ and technicians’ sketches according to company and client standards;
  • Ensuring compliance with the quality management system.

Requirements

  • A college diploma (DEC) in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of design experience. Experience in engineering consulting is an asset;
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and the MS Office suite;
  • Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure and road geometry;
  • Knowledge of English is an asset to facilitate collaboration with our teams outside Quebec or with clients;
  • Recognized by your peers for your organizational skills and commitment to quality work, strong ability to learn, autonomy, teamwork, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
