About the role
- Apply buildings mechanical engineering principles, superior client service skills, and project management best practices to deliver healthcare projects
- Successfully manage site, horizontal and vertical buildings’ projects
- Apply buildings engineering and project management knowledge while leading multi-discipline resources to meet project requirements
- Serve as a trainer, mentor, and resource
- Hold project team members accountable for deliverables
- Manage and plan the production resources and workflow to produce design documentation
- May act as QC reviewer on projects
- Nurture existing client relationships and proactively pursue opportunities for new business
- Develop and deliver project related client presentations
- Maintain and expand current knowledge of technologies and trends
- Proactively pursue additional knowledge in related disciplines by attending training
- Actively participate in meetings that support studio and firm-wide goals
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field
- Minimum of 7 or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated skills preferred
- Professional Engineering license is preferred
- Project Management Professional certification, LEED AP credential, ASHRAE Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP) certification and familiarity with various construction delivery processes, such as Design assist and Design-Build is preferred.
- Experience managing projects, teams, and clients
- Leading and managing project design and delivery teams; designing HVAC and Plumbing systems for facilities within the built environment.
- Client consulting experience.
- Understanding and implementation of the principles of project management.
- Ability to manage clients, projects, fees, scope, and teams to achieve budget, schedule and deliverable objectives while meeting key stakeholder critical success factors.
- Fundamental understanding of the current NFPA 72, 99, 101 and 110, Hawaii State Building Codes including the State Electrical Code and State Energy Conservation Code.
- Familiarity with the FGI Guidelines as they specifically apply to healthcare facilities is welcomed.
- Familiarity with, and ability to produce, project-related documents and documentation standards required of a technical and delivery-oriented Project Manager.
- Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design.
- Deep understanding of healthcare plumbing and medical gas systems.
- Familiarity with and ability to apply sustainable design principles within projects while maintaining the process driven requirements of healthcare facilities.
- Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.
- Functional knowledge of BIM software; in particular, Revit MEP.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
