About the role

  • Apply buildings mechanical engineering principles, superior client service skills, and project management best practices to deliver healthcare projects
  • Successfully manage site, horizontal and vertical buildings’ projects
  • Apply buildings engineering and project management knowledge while leading multi-discipline resources to meet project requirements
  • Serve as a trainer, mentor, and resource
  • Hold project team members accountable for deliverables
  • Manage and plan the production resources and workflow to produce design documentation
  • May act as QC reviewer on projects
  • Nurture existing client relationships and proactively pursue opportunities for new business
  • Develop and deliver project related client presentations
  • Maintain and expand current knowledge of technologies and trends
  • Proactively pursue additional knowledge in related disciplines by attending training
  • Actively participate in meetings that support studio and firm-wide goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field
  • Minimum of 7 or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated skills preferred
  • Professional Engineering license is preferred
  • Project Management Professional certification, LEED AP credential, ASHRAE Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP) certification and familiarity with various construction delivery processes, such as Design assist and Design-Build is preferred.
  • Experience managing projects, teams, and clients
  • Leading and managing project design and delivery teams; designing HVAC and Plumbing systems for facilities within the built environment.
  • Client consulting experience.
  • Understanding and implementation of the principles of project management.
  • Ability to manage clients, projects, fees, scope, and teams to achieve budget, schedule and deliverable objectives while meeting key stakeholder critical success factors.
  • Fundamental understanding of the current NFPA 72, 99, 101 and 110, Hawaii State Building Codes including the State Electrical Code and State Energy Conservation Code.
  • Familiarity with the FGI Guidelines as they specifically apply to healthcare facilities is welcomed.
  • Familiarity with, and ability to produce, project-related documents and documentation standards required of a technical and delivery-oriented Project Manager.
  • Ability to integrate design elements with other disciplines to deliver a coordinated design.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare plumbing and medical gas systems.
  • Familiarity with and ability to apply sustainable design principles within projects while maintaining the process driven requirements of healthcare facilities.
  • Strong client communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Functional knowledge of BIM software; in particular, Revit MEP.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
