About the role

  • Perform field and task management duties associated with environmental permitting, hydrologic and hydrogeological studies, subsurface investigations, remediation, and monitoring projects
  • Sampling of soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater
  • Oversight of subcontractors
  • Production of maps
  • Data interpretation/evaluation and deliverable preparation
  • Project coordination
  • Report writing
  • Field support for soil and groundwater site investigation and remediation projects
  • Operation and maintenance of soil and groundwater remediation systems
  • Soil and Groundwater monitoring / sampling
  • Data evaluation, coordinating with GIS team to generate figures, and reporting
  • Communicate daily with the project team and clients as needed

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Position requires strict adherence to health and safety procedures, attention to detail, good work ethic, and a passion for high quality workmanship
  • Excellent organizational skills, combined with the ability and flexibility to work in a dynamic, challenging and fast paced environment
  • The ability to travel up to 50% of the time is required mostly within the state of Utah
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license required
  • Prior to employment, this position may require the successful passing of a pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Bachelor’s degree in physical science, geology or engineering required
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in consulting
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and/or associated yearly 8-hour refresher course preferred
  • Experience with soil and groundwater sampling protocol preferred
  • Experience with operation and maintenance of various field sampling and monitoring equipment preferred
  • Experience with contaminated land investigations and remediation, environmental due diligence with Phase I ESA and Phase II ESA experience, RCRA, borehole logging experience using USCS protocol preferred
