About the role
- Interface directly with clients and stakeholders to effectively manage project deliverables.
- Perform complex engineering design tasks on assigned airport projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Involvement in power distribution design and commissioning of electrical infrastructure.
- Support business development activities, proposal responses, and client account planning.
- Mentor and technically develop junior designers and EIT’s.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field & Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of experience. Candidates with 3 years of experience will be considered.
- Strong communication skills, including an aptitude for effective leadership and people management.
- Understanding and appreciation of all phases of infrastructure projects, including conventional and alternative delivery methods for public and private clients through all phases of the project life cycle.
- Comprehensive understanding of all phases of project document production.
- Thorough understanding of local and federal design guidelines and specifications, including TP312 5th Edition, CCDC, MMCD and Canadian NMS.
- Thorough understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and stakeholders.
- Possesses excellent time-management skills, thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources.
- Thorough understanding of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of relevant design software, which may include some or all of the following: Autodesk BIM 360, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and AGI32.
