About the role

  • Interface directly with clients and stakeholders to effectively manage project deliverables.
  • Perform complex engineering design tasks on assigned airport projects.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports.
  • Involvement in power distribution design and commissioning of electrical infrastructure.
  • Support business development activities, proposal responses, and client account planning.
  • Mentor and technically develop junior designers and EIT’s.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field & Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of experience. Candidates with 3 years of experience will be considered.
  • Strong communication skills, including an aptitude for effective leadership and people management.
  • Understanding and appreciation of all phases of infrastructure projects, including conventional and alternative delivery methods for public and private clients through all phases of the project life cycle.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all phases of project document production.
  • Thorough understanding of local and federal design guidelines and specifications, including TP312 5th Edition, CCDC, MMCD and Canadian NMS.
  • Thorough understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and stakeholders.
  • Possesses excellent time-management skills, thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources.
  • Thorough understanding of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of relevant design software, which may include some or all of the following: Autodesk BIM 360, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and AGI32.
