About the role
- Manage and control material inventories to achieve inventory effectiveness targets
- Ensure inventory accuracy in SAP through ongoing controls and reconciliation
- Support production schedule attainment and service performance by ensuring material availability and execution discipline
- Lead and execute continuous improvement projects, including Kaizen and 5S activities within the department
- Maintain department metrics established by the Plant Director and provide weekly staff charts with key indicators
- Communicate effectively with the Supply Chain team to ensure alignment and execution
- Oversee supplier purchase orders for raw materials
- Oversee purchase orders for service parts and intercompany requirements
- Monitor and control excess and obsolete materials
- Manage company resources (people, equipment, tools) effectively to meet business needs
- Improve material flow and material management processes across the operation
- Participate in the preparation and execution of the annual physical inventory
- Define and lead the department’s optimal supply chain strategy and contribute to supply chain planning decisions
- Lead talent management activities, including training and development within the department
- Direct transportation and logistics activities in support of business requirements
- Follow environmental and safety requirements, including waste segregation and compliance with operational controls
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Experience leading Materials and Supply Chain personnel
- Proficiency with materials control systems and supply chain tools (Microsoft Office, MRP, and manufacturing reporting tools such as Business Objects preferred)
- Advanced English skills
