About the role

  • Bring a deep understanding of the Tools And Outdoor markets to commercial, category management and product teams:
  • Build and contribute to foundational understanding of the Tools And Outdoor category and the Stanley Black & Decker (SBD) suite of brands and its major competitors.
  • Lead acquisition and analysis of insights from different sources of market data (e.g., industry reports, market size, POS, Numerator, Yipit, OpenBrand, Euromonitor, OPEI).
  • Monitor category trends, macro trends and competitive dynamics to surface key opportunities.
  • Transform market data into actionable insights influencing the decisions and behavior of senior leaders by:
  • Make market intelligence accessible and actionable for partners at all levels, leveraging tools like Power BI,
  • Transform complex internal & external data into clear, compelling narratives that influence senior leaders and drive business strategy.
  • Provide clear and concise messaging of market share trends to both commercial and business unit partners
  • Drive efficiency in reporting to prioritize time for analyzing data and making business recommendations
  • Assist with identifying key business growth and market share drivers
  • Identify trends and opportunities for new sources of growth
  • Create influential data visualizations that bring growth opportunities to life for leadership
  • Contribute to the growth and curiosity of our Global Strategic Insights & Analytics team:
  • Seek out and share knowledge on emerging research and analytics methodologies.
  • Build advocacy for sustained organizational investment in marketplace understanding.
  • Identify opportunities for work process improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2+ years of professional experience in Consumer or Market Insights and Analytics, Brand or Shopper Marketing, Business or Financial Strategy, or other related field
  • Emerging-experience in the use and synthesis of market data from a variety of sources (e.g. Numerator, Nielsen, NPD, Euromonitor etc.)
  • Ability to drive consensus across diverse, global groups
  • Strong presentation skills and comfort with presenting recommendations
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to think and act strategically
  • Ability to “connect the dots” and drive toward bigger picture insights
  • Ability to show complex information in a simple, visual way that drives understanding
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate data into actionable recommendations for varied audiences
  • Eager to learn, experiment, and share new approaches in market intelligence.
