About the role
- Perform regular cost analysis to determine the actual cost of manufactured goods and services.
- Prepare and present cost reports, variance analyses, and operational dashboards to support management decisions.
- Maintain and update standard costs for material, labor, and overhead; monitor standard cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Oversee inventory valuation, reconciliation, and transaction accuracy within the ERP system.
- Support and participate in annual physical inventory counts.
- Execute proper cost allocation methods across departments and projects.
- Partner with production, procurement, engineering, and project management teams to gather cost-related data and provide financial insights.
- Support project accounting, including cost capture and revenue recognition using the percentage-of-completion method.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on cost efficiency, process enhancement, and automation.
- Provide documentation and explanations to support internal and external financial audits.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and financial controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong analytical ability and comfort working with manufacturing cost structures.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including data analysis and financial modeling.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across plant, office, and leadership teams.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Experience with cost accounting, product costing, or manufacturing estimating preferred.
- ERP system experience and comfort working in a data-driven environment.
