About the role

  • Manage accounts and tax returns for both company and SMSF (Self-Managed Superannuation Fund) clients, along with individual tax returns and various other engagements.
  • Prepare and submit Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other regulatory filings in compliance with Australian tax requirements.
  • Process payroll accurately, including tax calculations, superannuation, and deductions.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records for auditing and compliance purposes.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports to support decision-making.
  • Reconcile accounts and investigate any discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide clients with updates on tax obligations and deadlines, ensuring compliance and timely submissions.
  • Stay updated on Australian tax laws and accounting regulations to ensure adherence to best practices.
  • Contribute to team management tasks such as work-paper template maintenance, checklist review, project progress monitoring, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on tax returns for both company and SMSF
  • BAS, payroll, and tax return preparation experience is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Australian tax regulations and SMSF requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
