About the role
- You are responsible for controlling for the strategic energy business unit and support management with transparent financial analyses, sound decision-making bases and active accompaniment in achieving targets.
- Manage planning processes within the business unit, align them with group-wide requirements and ensure an integrated, timely planning cycle.
- Prepare profit and loss calculations, earnings forecasts, variance analyses and profitability assessments, and derive concrete management actions.
- Act as a financial sparring partner to executives, develop well-founded recommendations for decisions and actions, and provide audience-appropriate reports.
- Develop measures to optimize results and targets together with the responsible parties, support their implementation and transparently track effectiveness.
- Further develop controlling systems and processes with a focus on performance monitoring in the energy sector with a forward-looking approach.
Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics or a comparable qualification
- Ideally experience in controlling within the energy industry or related sectors
- Solid knowledge of controlling methods and financial instruments such as cost accounting, financial and investment appraisal
- Confident use of relevant systems and tools, e.g. SAP CO/FI/BW, MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills to assess complex economic relationships
- High sense of responsibility, structured and goal-oriented working style
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with different specialist departments
