About the role

  • Help actively shape the financial management of Stadtwerke Bielefeld
  • Take responsibility for controlling in the strategic business unit Waste Management
  • Create transparency, derive well-founded management impulses and support managers
  • Manage planning processes within the business unit and align them with group-wide requirements
  • Prepare profit and loss accounts, earnings forecasts, variance analyses and cost-effectiveness/profitability calculations
  • Act as a commercial/business sparring partner to managers and develop well-founded recommendations for decisions and actions
  • Develop and implement measures to optimize results and targets
  • Further develop controlling systems and processes with a focus on performance monitoring

Requirements

  • University degree in economics, finance or engineering—ideally with a focus on Controlling
  • Several years of professional experience in controlling or business partnering, preferably in the waste management sector or with a technical focus
  • Solid knowledge of corporate planning, profit and loss accounting and investment/ profitability analyses
  • Confident use of common controlling and reporting tools (e.g. SAP, BI/data analytics solutions) and a strong affinity for data analysis
  • Experience working with management and specialist departments and the ability to communicate complex issues in an audience-appropriate manner
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, combined with a high level of initiative and sense of responsibility
  • Structured, solution-oriented working style and enthusiasm for continuously optimizing controlling processes and systems
