About the role
- Manage program with multiple projects throughout various stages of the project life cycle, and collaborate with across Business functions and Vendor resources to deliver expected outcomes:
- Prepare overall (integrated) program and project management plan(s) in conjunction with Program/Project Leads, Sponsor/Customer and report on outputs and progress against this plan.
- Identify project uncertainties, alternative resource plans, scope changes, and other risks and create containment and mitigation plans.
- Manage scope and commitments: Manage project scope to ensure that requirements are analyzed, documented and agreed and the impact of any change is formally assessed, evaluated and approved.
- Closely follow up on project deliverables and hold leads/contributors/stakeholders accountable to their commitments.
- Manage spend and resources and schedule: Establish schedules and milestones and communicate across teams. Establish mappings (schedule, resources, deliverables) and track burn rates closely (deliverables completed vs spend to-date)
- Provide leadership to diagnose and overcome barriers to team/project progress, implementing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
- Report progress and establish governance: Institute appropriate Steering and Operational Governance, and conduct both program and project phase stage-gate reviews with Project Management Office (PMO)
- Use data analysis and organization tools to both track project KPIs and discover impactful insights.
- Create and present reports to executive team members and stakeholders to support recommendations.
- Maintain program documentation and communicate project status, operations status and other work information on a periodic basis.
Requirements
- 8+ years’ experience with managing large programs that have multiple projects (both IT and business) with inter-dependencies.
- 8+ years of experience leading, managing and rolling out changes in business processes and systems.
- Experience cultivating relationships with people across functions and business units.
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Ability to adapt and apply appropriate project delivery approaches (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) based on project requirements and organizational needs.
