About the role

  • This is a fully remote position. We’re looking for a Principal Data Engineer & Product Lead to support our Professional Services team in delivering custom data solutions to clients across regulated industries. This role is a blend of technical execution and client-facing collaboration, responsible for building tailored analytics, onboarding data integrations, and supporting enterprise-level deliverables such as reports, dashboards, and performance insights. The ideal candidate brings a balance of data fluency, customer empathy, and technical execution. You’ll work closely with the Professional Services, Client Success, and Product teams to translate client needs into actionable data assets that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Professional Services team members to scope and deliver client-specific reporting and data solutions
  • Design, build, and maintain custom SQL queries, data pipelines, and transformation logic to support enterprise reporting requests
  • Support the onboarding of new clients by integrating their historical data sources with Springbig’s platform
  • Build dashboards, scorecards, and scheduled reports for clients using BI tools (Quicksights, Redshift, AWS Services, etc.)
  • Work directly with clients to troubleshoot reporting questions, clarify data definitions, and provide analysis that supports their KPIs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align data deliverables with platform capabilities and client expectations
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and privacy compliance across all Professional Services outputs
  • Document processes, templates, and technical solutions to support scale and repeatability within the team
  • Provide analytical insight that helps clients better understand loyalty program performance, campaign ROI, and platform utilization
  • Assist in the development of standardized reporting packages for high-value clients and strategic partners

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence, ideally in a client-facing or services-focused role
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases and data modeling
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and scripting languages such as Python for automation and transformation
  • Experience working with BI/reporting tools like QuickSights, Tableau, Looker or similar platforms
  • Comfort working directly with clients, including gathering requirements, presenting findings, and managing expectations
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to balance multiple projects, shifting timelines, and client-specific deliverables
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
  • Experience working in SaaS, MarTech, or loyalty/CRM platforms is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field
