About the role

  • The Electro-Mechanical Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, supplier performance management, and cost/risk roadmaps for electro-mechanical commodities supporting production and new product introduction (NPI).
  • Typical scope may include connectors, cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electromechanical assemblies, sensors, relays/contactors, switches, thermal components (fans, heatsinks), insulation materials, and selected power/electrical subassemblies (based on business needs).
  • This role partners closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Planning, and Finance to ensure supply continuity, competitive total cost, and robust quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7 years in strategic sourcing/commodity management, supplier development, or procurement within manufacturing (electronics, industrial, medical, energy, aerospace, etc.).
  • Proven track record in: supplier negotiations and contract management RFQ execution and cost modeling supplier performance management, and cross-functional influence.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; able to present recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP tools (SAP/Oracle/etc.) and advanced Excel.
  • Experience sourcing electro-mechanical assemblies such as harnesses, cable assemblies, connectors, relays/contactors, sensors, and electromechanical modules.
  • Experience with high voltage products or insulation-critical designs (preferred, not mandatory).
  • Familiarity with quality systems and supplier qualification methods (audits, control plans, PPAP-like evidence, FAI, reliability testing).
  • Lean/Six Sigma or project management experience (nice to have).
