Game Engineer

• Join a small but extremely talented team to define a new kind of video game experience.

• Serve as an early team member with significant artistic and research freedom to shape a potential video game or interactive visual novel.
• Develop 3D narrative/puzzle game systems in Unity and contribute to 3D character animation and mocap workflows.
• Collaborate closely with AI researchers and engineers and integrate the latest generative AI research (including LLMs) into gameplay and character systems.

• Research and engineer LLMs that power anime characters and interactive narratives
• Collaborate with top researchers and engineers to design and build multi-modal models
• Implement and optimize training, evaluation, and post-training workflows (including roleplay-focused work)
• Design and analyze human feedback collection systems (RLHF-style or implicit signals)
• Build and maintain LLM infrastructure: data pipelines, checkpointing, sharding, memory optimizations, benchmarking, and checkpoint selection
• Optimize for real-time interaction and low latency when interacting with characters
• Contribute creatively to game design and character behavior; balance research exploration with product-focused development
• Prefer on-site collaboration in Tokyo (Akihabara) or San Francisco research offices

AI Anime Researcher, LLM

• Join a small research team to define a new kind of video game experience.
• Work alongside top industry researchers and engineers (including veterans from Warudo and Google DeepMind).
• Research and develop text-to-motion, audio-to-motion, speech-driven 3D facial animation, and real-time 3D motion generation systems.
• Build anime characters and collaborate with multi-modal researchers and image/video generation teams on data collection.
• Deliver research-informed, product-focused solutions and communicate tradeoffs and deliverables.
• Significant artistic and research freedom to shape potential video games or interactive visual novels.
