About the role
- Develop and execute global commodity strategies for: Semiconductors (Actives): MCUs, FPGAs, ASICs, Analog & Power ICs, Memory, RF components Magnetics: Transformers, Inductors, Chokes, Custom Magnetics Assemblies
- Support global quoting teams during NPI and RFQ phases, optimizing sourcing strategies for cost, lead time, lifecycle risk, and availability.
- Establish and manage strategic relationships with semiconductor OEMs, authorized distributors, and magnetics manufacturers to ensure supply continuity and competitive positioning.
- Lead supplier and distributor negotiations, including: Pricing agreements and long-term agreements (LTAs) Allocation and capacity strategies NCNR terms and liability management Rebate and volume leverage programs
- Drive global leverage and standardization, consolidating spend and aligning to preferred suppliers and technologies where possible.
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Program Management, and Site Supply Chain teams to align sourcing strategies and mitigate supply risks.
- Manage supplier and distributor performance, including scorecards, QBRs, and corrective actions for quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
- Lead cost reduction and value engineering initiatives, including: Alternate sourcing and cross-referencing Design-to-cost collaboration with engineering Technology and platform standardization
- Monitor and manage market conditions and supply risks, including: Semiconductor allocation environments and fab capacity constraints Lifecycle risks (EOL, NRND, obsolescence) Geopolitical and regional supply chain exposure Raw material impacts (e.g., silicon wafers, ferrite materials, copper)
- Develop and execute inventory and supply assurance strategies, including: Buffer stock and strategic inventory positioning Last-time buys and obsolescence mitigation HUB and consignment programs where applicable
- Lead resourcing and dual/multi-sourcing strategies, ensuring continuity of supply for critical components.
- Utilize market intelligence tools, procurement systems, and analytics platforms to drive data-based decisions.
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives across sourcing, risk management, and supply assurance processes.
- Support customer escalations and recovery efforts related to semiconductor shortages and long-lead components.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of experience in global sourcing or supply chain within EMS or electronics manufacturing.
- Strong expertise in: Passive components and/or discrete semiconductors Distributor networks and channel strategies MRO and indirect procurement practices
- Proven track record of supplier/distributor negotiations, contract development, and cost reduction execution.
- Strong understanding of: Allocation management and lifecycle risk (EOL/NRND) Commodity market trends and pricing drivers Inventory strategies for long-lead and constrained components
- Experience supporting NPI / RFQ environments and design-to-cost initiatives.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data-driven analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally. Valid passport required.
