About the role

  • Identify, attract, and engage top talent for various positions within the organization, ensuring a diverse and inclusive candidate pool.
  • Collaborates with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria.
  • Screens candidates, selects qualified and interested candidates for the interviewing phase, and then connects viable candidates with hiring managers.
  • Counsels candidates on the interview and hiring process.
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Manage the entire full-cycle recruitment process from job posting to onboarding, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and extending offers.
  • Coordinate the onboarding of volunteers, interns and contractors from employment agencies.
  • Checks candidate's references and credentials, verifying experience and backgrounds.
  • Provide an exceptional candidate experience by maintaining clear communication, timely updates, and a professional, respectful approach.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential candidates, industry professionals, and community organizations to expand the talent pipeline.
  • Ensure all recruitment practices comply with applicable laws and organizational policies.
  • Organizes and attends job fairs, campus events, and other networking opportunities.
  • Collects and analyzes data to maintain a current understanding of fair and competitive market salaries, candidate availability, and demand for candidates in particular fields.
  • Analyzes metrics, and statistics, to make recommendations related to recruitment and retention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of recruiting experience, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong sourcing abilities for a variety of roles, including non-exempt, exempt, and leadership positions.
  • Proficient in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment tools.
  • Proficient with ADP Workforce Now or similar HRIS systems.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • A genuine commitment to the nonprofit mission and a desire to contribute to social change.
