About the role
- Consult with designer and/or client to discuss their electrical requirements
- Create electrical design and automation layouts based on client needs
- Follow up with clients to ensure correct information for consultations
- Ensure jobs qualified through home building companies and answer builder questions
- Produce quotes using Company software (currently exonet)
- Produce plans using Company drawing software (currently Microsoft Visio)
- Ensure quoted product lists match products on project drawings
- Ensure plans reflect products located for efficient and practical installation
- Document all communication regarding the project in job history notes
- Liaise with building companies and maintain strong builder/client relationships
- Manage relationships with Building Companies, Cooperatives and Associations as assigned
- Contribute to product evaluations, recommend changes, and contribute to projects
- Mentor level 1 consultants and share information with the team
Requirements
- Demonstrate the ability to draft Electrical designs
- Demonstrate the ability to design Lighting and Power layouts – including initial drafting, final job check and variations – including designing of documentation for the electrical installation by a 3rd party
- Understanding of Australian Building and construction methods
- Attention to detail is critical
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Competent in Microsoft Vision
- Competent in Exonet
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
- Ability to liaise with building companies and attend meetings as required
