About the role
- Accountable for the entity financial records and all local statutory and tax compliance.
- Review, assess, consult and update as necessary effectiveness and adherence to (i) internal controls, (ii) accounting standards and (iii) compliance with local regulations
- Maintaining the GL, journal entries, and full balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accurate and complete accounting.
- Collaborate with tax and treasury functions to ensure accurate reporting of tax provisions, cash flow, and financing arrangements
- Preparing local financial statements and managing the local audit process.
- Supporting any group audit processes as required.
- Accurate and timely monthly, half yearly, and annual monthly close process
- Review and analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, independently identifying, researching, and correcting discrepancies prior to submission.
- Review of results by entity, plus vertical and horizontal for your entity, for accuracy and completeness
- Collaborating with the People Team and external payroll providers to ensure payroll is accurate, compliant, on time, and in full.
- Processing of accurate and complete payroll journals into the accounting ledgers
- Preparing and lodging all indirect tax returns and payment of any taxes due.
- Compliance with all group finance policies and procedures
- Support for payment and banking approvals as required
- Working with the Group F&C and FP&A, and BPtr teams to support budgets and forecasts, consolidation, group reporting, audit, and commercial analysis as required
- Liaising with internal/external company secretarial services for local corporate governance and regulatory matters
- Preparing local cash flow forecasts and any required cash inflow requirements
- This role is integral to the Finance & Control team, and back-up support and other tasks and projects will be assigned as required
Requirements
- Strong financial accounting experience under IFRS
- Strong all-round compliance and tax knowledge
- Strong controls experience
- Great team collaboration
- Regional experience and curiosity to learn about all aspects of reporting in their region/regions
- Able to work with auditors
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
- 5-7 years of finance experience
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a remote, high-growth environment where priorities can change and teams are located in multiple time zones
- Proactive, go-getter attitude
- Attention to detail – No task is too small for you to roll your sleeves up. You love to balance debits and credits, find joy in reconciling, and seek to understand all balances and transactions.
