About the role
- Provide overall labor compliance leadership for an assigned geographic region.
- Independently manage complex labor compliance obligations for internal self-perform work and multi-tier subcontractors.
- Review, analyze, and audit Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs) and supporting documentation.
- Interpret and apply complex labor compliance requirements.
- Conduct proactive compliance audits and risk assessments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client, third-party, and government audits.
- Directly supervise, mentor, and develop a team of assigned Labor Compliance Specialists.
- Collaborate with project teams, legal, payroll, and external stakeholders for compliant monitoring and reporting strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in labor compliance on state- and/or federally funded construction projects.
- Demonstrated experience serving in a lead, senior, or supervisory capacity.
- Advanced, working knowledge of California labor laws and regulations.
- Proven expertise in prevailing wage enforcement, certified payroll auditing, risk assessment, and labor compliance investigations.
- Experience managing compliance activities across multiple projects, contractors, and geographic regions.
- Strong people leadership skills, including the ability to coach, develop, motivate, and hold team members accountable.
- High proficiency with labor compliance and payroll monitoring systems (e.g., LCPtracker).
