About the role
- Build reusable, scalable report templates
- Implement advanced DAX measures aligned to standardized KPI definitions
- Optimize performance of semantic models and reports
- Support migration of legacy reports into Fabric/Power BI
- Design and maintain enterprise Power BI semantic models
- Implement star schema models using conformed dimensions
- Collaborate with Senior Analytics Engineer on schema design
- Ensure consistent use of conformed dimensions and measures
- Avoid metric duplication and shadow calculations
- Support RLS implementation and governance controls
- Tune DAX and model performance
- Implement incremental refresh where appropriate
- Maintain alignment with SOX-related controls and documentation standards
- Follow Dev/Test/Prod deployment processes
- Contribute to BI standards and best practices
- Translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Retail, and other stakeholders
- Support KPI clarification and validation
- Improve report usability and adoption
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in Power BI development
- Advanced DAX (CALCULATE, context transition, time intelligence, optimization)
- Strong understanding of star schema and dimensional modeling
- Experience building and managing semantic models
- Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS)
- Strong SQL skills
- Experience with Power BI CI/CD, including deployment pipelines, version control, and Dev/Test/Prod promotion.
- Experience working in Azure or Microsoft Fabric environment
- Understanding of medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
- Ability to work within governed data models
- Familiarity with SCD concepts and fact grain principles
- Awareness of data governance and compliance considerations.
