Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures for optimization and disaster recovery.
Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with best practices and organizational policies.
Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate database solutions into applications and services.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers on database best practices and architecture.
Manage and optimize AWS Relational Database Service (RDS) instances and other relevant AWS data services.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
7+ years of professional experience as a Database Engineer or Architect.
Deep expertise in PostgreSQL, including advanced features, replication, and performance tuning.
Extensive hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift, including schema design, query optimization, and cluster management.
Proven track record of designing and implementing data pipelines using AWS services (e.g., DMS, S3, Lambda, Glue, Kinesis).
Strong proficiency with various AWS cloud services, particularly RDS, EC2, S3, and IAM.
Solid understanding of data modeling principles, database design, and normalization techniques.
Experience with database security, backup, and recovery strategies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
