About the role
- Create a comprehensive retailer acquisition strategy across retail categories to ensure deep retail coverage, secure sales data and create sticky retailer relationships.
- Source and engage retail partners—e.g. retailers, marketplaces, channel distributors, unearth new opportunities through networking and turning them into long-term partnerships.
- Drive activation and enablement of retail partners by bringing together internal teams to operationalize retailer set up, data onboarding and sales data ingestion
- Identify, onboard, and manage retailer and affiliate partners across global platforms (CJ, Impact, AWIN, Rakuten, Belboon, TradeDoubler, etc.).
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Ops on affiliate accelerator builds, platform integrations, and missing data configuration or clarifying missing transactions.
- Act as escalation point for partner issues, ensuring fast resolution and positive retailer relationships.
- Remain in regular contact with your clients and provide professional support to understand and meet their needs to maximize customer loyalty. Nurture, and grow existing partnerships.
- Negotiate and manage commercial terms, integrations, and joint marketing.
- Track retailer and affiliate performance, commissions, and ROI; share insights internally to optimize spend and partner strategy.
- Use Salesforce and Jira to document partner activity and manage platform setup workstreams.
- Create detailed business plans designed to attain predetermined goals and quotas.
- Communicate and report on successes and obstacles to overcome.
- The role is a remote position with some travel expected for in-person meetings and/or conferences.
Requirements
- Retail industry knowledge and partnership experience with solid knowledge of the retailer and affiliate ecosystems, platforms & networks.
- Strategic with a bias for action
- Superior cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to simplify technical and contractual concepts.
- History and evidence of meeting and exceeding targets.
- Comfortable helping to lead complex negotiations.
- Ability to lead analysis-driven processes and have proven closing skills (internal or external).
- Able to operate in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment.
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to build relationships.
- Bonus points for experience in CPG.
- College degree required, BSc or BA in business administration, sales or marketing preferred.
