About the role

  • Design and layout complete books (print and/or digital) from concept to final delivery.
  • Develop and maintain a consistent visual identity throughout each book.
  • Design and format interior pages, including typography, margins, grids, and hierarchy.
  • Create, generate, or curate AI-generated images (e.g., Midjourney or similar tools) and integrate them seamlessly into the book design.
  • Prepare files for print and digital publication, ensuring technical accuracy and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate feedback while maintaining design integrity.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables independently, ensuring deadlines are met.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of proven experience as an Editorial Designer or similar role.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating complete book projects (layout + final execution).
  • Solid knowledge of editorial design principles and typography.
  • Experience using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop (or equivalent tools).
  • Practical experience working with AI image-generation tools (e.g., Midjourney, DALL·E, Stable Diffusion, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously, completing full projects without close supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for visual quality.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
  • Nice to Have: Experience designing book series or long-form editorial projects.
  • Familiarity with publishing workflows and print specifications.
  • Experience working with authors, publishers, or content teams.
  • Basic knowledge of branding and visual storytelling.
