About the role
- The Head of Strategy and Corporate Development Operations is responsible for shaping Organon’s corporate strategy and driving operational excellence in support of corporate development initiatives.
- Reporting to the Head of Corporate Development & Chief Strategy Officer, this role focuses on facilitating the development of the company’s strategic plan, leading/supporting key strategic initiatives, aligning/prioritizing internal resources and investment decisions, and driving operational excellence across the Corporate Development function.
- Strategic Planning – facilitating the development of and refining our multi-year strategic plan to achieve our long-term vision, and translating it into clear choices, priorities, actionable initiatives, and measurable outcomes.
- Portfolio and Capital Allocation Processes – continuous collaboration with internal stakeholders to guide where we invest our resources to maximize long-term value creation in a way that is agile and responsive to changes in the environment.
- Tracking Progress – establishing, tracking, and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress of our strategic initiatives and enable efficient decision-making.
Requirements
- Advanced degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Strategy, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years' experience in strategic and operational leadership roles within corporate strategy or business development in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in corporate strategic planning, capital allocation frameworks, asset evaluation, and operational management.
- Previous experience leading strategy and operations within a global organization.
- Proven ability to integrate corporate strategy with operational processes, driving business development success and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with due diligence, valuation methodologies, and partnership frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills, financial acumen and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of global pharmaceutical markets, regulatory environments, and industry trends, and leveraging these insights to guide strategic initiatives.
