About the role
- Senior DevOps Engineer responsible for design, implementation, and management of Signifyd's cloud-based infrastructure, leading a team supporting the decision platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud-based services
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment
- Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters for orchestration, monitoring, and scaling
- Drive evolution to cloud-native managed services and Kubernetes
- Enhance cloud infrastructure security: access controls, encryption, vulnerability assessments
- Collaborate on CI/CD (TeamCity) pipelines and build platform (Java, Gradle Enterprise) to automate software deployment
- Define and maintain cloud engineering best practices and standards
- Optimize applications for cloud deployment focusing on performance and scalability
- Evaluate emerging cloud and DevOps technologies for integration
- Participate in capacity planning and resource optimization
- Troubleshoot complex engineering issues, perform root cause analysis, and propose solutions
- Create and maintain documentation related to cloud infrastructure and security
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior team members
Requirements
- Lead a team and manage cloud-based infrastructure, containers, Kubernetes, networking, security, scripting, automation, and platform engineering
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) focusing on engineering best practices
- Extensive expertise in Kubernetes (self-managed and cloud-managed), cloud infrastructure (AWS and GCP), and ideally databases (MySQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or Elasticsearch)
- Deep knowledge of cloud best practices: security, cost optimization, operational excellence, reliability, performance efficiency
- In-depth knowledge of networking principles, protocols, and security best practices
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD (TeamCity, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline), and IaC tools (Terraform, Pulumi)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and communication in fast-paced, collaborative environments
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code best practices (Terraform)
- Software development experience in languages like Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, or Java
- Understanding of observability/monitoring/tracing tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, Jaeger, ELK) to support MTTR and reduce CFR
