About the role
- Work closely with the Buyer to support merchandising responsibilities and assist Merchandise Coordinators/Detail Assistants when needed.
- Help source, develop, and price products and put together assortments.
- Forecast orders and perform market research.
- Team up with Marketing for samples and submissions and support all marketing channels.
- Manage weekly and departmental reports; keep reports and assortment data updated and accurate.
- Set up SKUs, descriptions, and packaging details; collaborate with planners and analysts to plan assortments.
- Assist with sales forecasting and partner with vendors on product qualities, costs, deliveries, and returns.
- Join vendor meetings, take notes, follow up on action items, and communicate with stores.
- Review advertising materials for accuracy and clarity and work with visual teams on in-store displays.
- Share updates in meetings, complete project requests, and adapt to changing markets and priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising or a related field is preferred.
- One or more years of relevant experience, including buying.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knack for analyzing numbers.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office is a plus.
- Flexibility to work both in the office and remotely as needed.
- Ability to work in environments requiring metal-free protocols, following security guidelines.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally, sometimes on weekends.
- Local to Dallas, TX (hybrid role).
