About the role
- Analyze large and complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, segmentation strategies and opportunities across various aspects of the retail business (e.g., sales, customer behavior, inventory, promotions, digital performance, marketing strategies)
- Develop and deliver clear, actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders
- Design and build reports, and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, Excel to support teams across the business
- Work closely with stakeholders across merchandising, merchandise planning marketing, supply chain, finance, and store operations to understand analytical needs and deliver impactful solutions for assigned departments to optimize inventory
- Create predictive models and conduct scenario analysis to support strategic planning and decision-making
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates and commentary to possible forecast adjustments
- Work closely with IT and data engineering to improve data pipelines, reporting accuracy, and scalability of analytics solutions
- Track and optimize performance across channels (retail stores, e-commerce, clienteling, events) to improve conversion and ROI
- Provide insights into product performance and inventory turns, with a focus on high-value, slow-moving SKUs such as engagement rings, loose diamonds, and custom jewelry
- Partner with merchandising and inventory teams to forecast demand, identify product trends, and recommend assortment changes
- Collaborate with the e-commerce and marketing teams to analyze digital funnel performance, email campaigns, and paid media ROI
- Support pricing and promotional analysis to ensure competitiveness and profitability inclusive of retail price adjustment recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
- 4–6 years of experience in an analytical role, preferably within the retail industry
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel; strong experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects)
- Experience with statistical analysis and predictive modeling
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex data in a clear, concise manner
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver insights under tight deadlines.
