About the role
- Oversee development, engineering, and testing of network configurations and systems monitoring.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and site upgrades.
- Coordinate and facilitate engineering efforts to configure, manage, and evaluate multi-protocol network elements for effective end-to-end communications.
- Manage SIL projects and timelines.
- Support AS-Lead on all aspects of operational network issues.
- Review and follow processes for all CM related documentation submitted under the SIL: ECR, DR, Test plans, RTS, etc.
- Monitor and suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, scalability, and security; expert knowledge on data resiliency and high availability.
- Create design documents and diagrams to support system design and document all build and configuration processes.
- Create, maintain, and update documentation including VDD, baselines, ICDs, diagrams, and other related materials.
Requirements
- 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Ability to conduct in-depth log analysis and root-cause isolation.
- CCNP is required.
- Expert proficiency in layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing; designing of complex routing and switching schemes to support changing environments.
- Expert understanding of, and hands on experience with Cisco IOS, Cisco Firewalls and networking technologies.
- Expert proficiency in EIGRP,OSPF, STP, VTP, ACLs, and Layer 3 tunnels and understands how to monitor network devices to perform fault and root cause analysis.
- Experience with supporting IP services to connect to NIPRNET/SIPRNET (IPv4, VPN, IPv6, Multicast, BGP, etc.).
- Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues, and provide solutions.
- Experience with security documentation and accreditation life cycles is preferred.
- Expert understanding and knowledge of BGP is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in DoD or other Government Unclassified and Classified Systems/Networks, Cisco Routing and Switching, Network Engineering, Network Testing, and Implementation Planning.
- Ability to conduct research on Cisco or other related Network hardware components and develop innovated solutions based on requirements.
- Ability to conduct testing and regression testing in Government facilities.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite Products, and PC hardware architecture.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities with a focus on teamwork and customer service.
- Ability to multi-task effectively, prioritize, and execute against multiple priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively, independently, and to take initiative.
- Ability to quickly grasp and implement technical concepts.
- Ability to work well with other Engineering focus groups and personnel ranging from Junior to, Sr. Network, Systems, or Cyber Engineers including C2ISR-T Systems Engineer and government leads.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active TS/SCI security clearance or higher. Clearance will be sponsored for the right candidate.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems or other related field of study.
