About the role
- research, architect, model, simulate, test, certify, and improve cutting-edge defense solutions
- develop complex system architectures within contextual modeling platforms
- guide them from operational concept through preliminary and detailed design, simulation, and test using progressive tools
- take system-level ownership of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle
- ensure they meet rigorous performance and reliability standards
- collaborate closely with project engineers, external customers, and field-based employees to integrate various technological components into cohesive and effective defense mechanisms
- work alongside software teams to develop and field software for these systems, ensuring seamless integration and functionality
- collaborate with internal hardware design engineers, including mechanical and electrical engineers, to ensure all components work together harmoniously
Requirements
- Bachelor’s of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline
- typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
- higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
- progressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
- advanced understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
- knowledge of industry standard Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) approaches and tools
- ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance
