About the role
- Serve as primary legal advisor to product and engineering teams
- Develop and communicate practical, risk-based recommendations
- Partner with cross-functional teams on product strategy and roadmaps
- Conduct legal product reviews
- Identify applicable legal, regulatory, and policy requirements
- Draft, review, and negotiate technology and commercial agreements
- Manage and direct outside counsel
- Collaborate with privacy and security teams
- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments
- Identify legal, reputational, and safety risks
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of legal frameworks
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of legal practice experience
- Strong focus on product counseling for technology, SaaS, cloud services, or IoT/connected devices
- Experience in commercial technology transactions
- Knowledge of privacy/data protection and consumer-protection law
- Intellectual property knowledge (software and hardware)
- Meaningful experience advising product and engineering teams across the product lifecycle
- Strong project-management skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with non-lawyers at all levels of the organization.
