About the role

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment services tailored to each child’s developmental, physical, and functional needs
  • Care is delivered in an age-appropriate, family-centered manner
  • Focus on complex mobility and wheelchair services
  • Complete wheelchair and seating evaluations, collaborate with families and vendors
  • Select appropriate mobility equipment
  • Write detailed Letters of Medical Necessity to support procurement
  • Work closely with an interdisciplinary team and local leaders to provide evidence-based care

Requirements

  • Required Education necessary to obtain License in State of Practice
  • Licensed in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Preferred 1 year Physical Therapy experience
  • 1 year of PT or OT practice experience
  • AOTA fieldwork educator certificate, APTA credentialed clinical instructor, or ASHA clinical fellowship mentor
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities in working with children at various levels of care
  • Ability to work independently, work within a multidisciplinary treatment team, and collaborate and/or coordinate services with team members
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to interact effectively and sensitively with children and families of different developmental levels and cultural backgrounds
