About the role
- The VP, Netflix Scripted Series drives the creative direction and execution of our series development slate.
- This role is both creative and operational, championing strong ideas with a clear vision.
- Maintain an active series development slate featuring new projects a year.
- Align with the Shondaland VP Physical Production on projecting budgets and viability.
- Act as a bridge between NFLX and showrunner needs.
- Find material worth adapting for high-level writers.
- Prepare pitches for internal teams and external partners.
- Identify gaps in the lineup and generate expansion pitches.
- Strategize on best pairings in terms of creators and directors.
- Approve all creative steps for projects in production.
- Lead on set as needed and manage casting decisions.
Requirements
- Experience working in television drama and comedy desired.
- Experience managing and mentoring support staff.
- Experience working at or with streaming platforms preferred.
- Experience acting as “point” on multiple creative projects concurrently.
- Experience inventively expanding an existing brand.
- Previous work at Director level or above.
