About the role

  • Maintain and increase Shaw’s profitability and market share in a geographical area.
  • Develop good relationships with customers based on knowledge, service, trust, and integrity.
  • Conduct daily sales calls on existing customers with emphasis on soft surface flooring products, samples, displays, adhesive, and related floor products.
  • Present products to retail dealers, designers, and end-users.
  • Analyze leads provided by corporate reports.
  • Sell and construct display racks weighing 50lbs or more on a regular basis.
  • Continually prospect for viable new accounts.
  • Prepare business transactions and sales reports showing sales volume and potential sales.
  • Communicate periodic sales reports outlining actual sales information and goals, competitive market conditions, and product needs.
  • Analyze and control travel and entertainment expenditures as well as sample budget to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Enter all customer interactions and key information into Salesforce.com.
  • Responsible for selling and promoting all residential products, including Shaw Floors, A/T, and Philly Commercial.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Previous sales experience required.
  • Ability to interface with a diverse group of customers in a friendly and respectable manner.
  • Ability to use a laptop computer and basic Microsoft Windows software including MS Office.
  • Physically able to assemble and take down display fixtures.
  • Ability to lift more than 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Must reside within Northern Virginia territory.
