About the role

  • Review, redline, and assist with the negotiation of a variety of agreements, including vendor, service, confidentiality, and other commercial contracts.
  • Manage and maintain the contract management system, ensuring legal and departmental review is obtained for all agreements and signed contracts are properly uploaded, organized, and tracked for key terms and renewal dates.
  • Manage entity compliance activities, including annual and periodic Secretary of State filings, maintenance of corporate records, and coordination with the company’s registered agent (CT Corporation) to ensure ongoing good standing.
  • Coordinate insurance applications, renewals, and coverage documentation, including tracking certificates of insurance and policy information.
  • Serve as a point of contact between internal teams, insurance brokers, and carriers regarding insurance-related requests and compliance needs.
  • Review subpoenas and other legal notices and coordinate responses with in-house counsel and outside counsel as appropriate.
  • Maintain a centralized log of litigation matters, subpoenas, and disputes, including key deadlines, status updates, and outcomes.
  • Assist with document collection, organization, and legal recordkeeping related to litigation, audits, or regulatory inquiries.
  • Support legal department processes, workflow improvements, and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Paralegal certificate, associate’s degree, or equivalent relevant legal experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in an in-house, corporate, or healthcare environment.
  • Experience reviewing and redlining contracts and familiarity with common commercial contract terms.
  • Experience tracking litigation matters and handling subpoenas or legal notices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract management systems (experience with ContractWorks or similar platforms preferred).
