About the role
- Responsible for development of models using a variety of techniques.
- Produces reports, presents findings and makes recommendations to support corporate decision making.
- Supports the development of others and contributes to process improvement within the department.
- Collaborates with other departments and contributes to initiatives and actuarial projects that support the needs of the business.
- Supports the development of market and competitive product intelligence.
- Prepares and reviews rate indications.
- Prepares rate filings.
- Performs multivariate analysis to improve the accuracy of pricing models and other supporting models.
- Builds, refines, validates and implements machine learning models.
Requirements
- A four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary education institution in Actuarial Science or a relevant field of study such as Business or Mathematics & Applied Science.
- Minimum of 4 years of actuarial experience (preferably in the P&C Insurance sector).
- Required to have significant progress in the completion of associate level actuarial exams (Casualty Actuarial Society or Canadian Institute of Actuaries).
