About the role
- Bring to life the insight produced by the Spills Performance, Reporting and Assurance Teams
- Engage with operational teams and wider business functions such as AI&I to produce +24hr spill mitigation strategies
- Involve management of the end-to-end process, tracking progress, facilitating feedback, and removing obstacles
- Design, embed and deliver new processes to enable strategies, including Action Plans and Exemption Plans
- Ensure SOAF compliance and other regulatory measures are in place
- Produce Exemption Plans and Incident Action Plans for submission to the Environment Agency
- Gather evidence such as river inundation and third party influences for use within exemption plans
- Own relationship with Waste Operational Control Centre
- Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues & interdependencies
- Challenge and innovate to improve processes and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure collaborative and efficient working between A&I team, workstreams and wider Programme team
- Prepare project quality, control and performance feedback against metrics
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing complex or multi-disciplinary packages of work, particularly in Waste Networks Operations, Wastewater Recycling, or related technical/environmental roles
- Experience working with external stakeholders such as the Environment Agency
- Proficient in analysing data and management information (MI)
- Experience using Power BI and SharePoint
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Excel, SharePoint, Teams)
- Project management and technical skills for managing Action Plans and Exemption Plans
- Experience leading meetings, workshops, planning events, and conducting assurance and audits
- Solid understanding of project management principles, including risk management and resource planning
- Ideally qualified in an Operational, Project Management or Environmental discipline
