About the role

  • Bring to life the insight produced by the Spills Performance, Reporting and Assurance Teams
  • Engage with operational teams and wider business functions such as AI&I to produce +24hr spill mitigation strategies
  • Involve management of the end-to-end process, tracking progress, facilitating feedback, and removing obstacles
  • Design, embed and deliver new processes to enable strategies, including Action Plans and Exemption Plans
  • Ensure SOAF compliance and other regulatory measures are in place
  • Produce Exemption Plans and Incident Action Plans for submission to the Environment Agency
  • Gather evidence such as river inundation and third party influences for use within exemption plans
  • Own relationship with Waste Operational Control Centre
  • Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues & interdependencies
  • Challenge and innovate to improve processes and drive continuous improvement
  • Ensure collaborative and efficient working between A&I team, workstreams and wider Programme team
  • Prepare project quality, control and performance feedback against metrics

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing complex or multi-disciplinary packages of work, particularly in Waste Networks Operations, Wastewater Recycling, or related technical/environmental roles
  • Experience working with external stakeholders such as the Environment Agency
  • Proficient in analysing data and management information (MI)
  • Experience using Power BI and SharePoint
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Excel, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Project management and technical skills for managing Action Plans and Exemption Plans
  • Experience leading meetings, workshops, planning events, and conducting assurance and audits
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, including risk management and resource planning
  • Ideally qualified in an Operational, Project Management or Environmental discipline
