Works under the supervision of the Project Manager/Senior Instructional Designer to develop and document instructor-led, paper-based, and technology delivered curricula or performance support solutions
Work with subject matter experts and instructors to design and develop lesson plans, student guides, quizzes, and other elements of scenario-based and performance-based instructor-led and web-based training under the guidance of a Sr. ISD
Work with an instructional design team (instructional designers, graphic artists, SMEs, instructors) and project and program managers to design responsive training and/or performance support solutions and schedules
Update and maintain course content for instructor-led and web-based courses
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the ISD process and fosters design innovation
Capture and diagram workflow processes, conduct task analysis and workflow observations
Participate in visual design, prototyping, and usability testing and evaluation
Review products throughout analysis, design, and development for style guidelines, writing standards, and sensible course/task flow
Demonstrate knowledge of law enforcement and training accreditation to assist the Senior ISD in fostering design innovation in training these areas
Support evidence gathering to support accreditation requirements
Report to Senior ISD/Contract Project Manager and support FLETC training efforts
Requirements
U.S. Citizenship
Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or a related field
2 years of relevant experience
Ability to obtain/maintain/transfer a DHS Public Trust clearance prior to starting employment
Familiarity or experience with federal law enforcement training and subject matter
Familiarity or experience with accredited training program requirements
Ability to coordinate and work effectively with subject matter experts and as part of an Instructional Design team
Experience developing instructor-led and web-based systems training for the federal Government
Demonstrated ability with word-processing and presentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word and PowerPoint) as well as web-based training and simulation tools
Demonstrated ability to present complex information clearly
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong presentation skills, facilitation, interpersonal and client interaction skills
Meticulous attention to detail
Proven experience as a team player
10% travel may be required
Additional desired: Experience designing and developing federal law enforcement training
Additional desired: Experience working on FLETA or other accredited courses
