About the role

  • Shape the operational foundation of Sentara’s talent strategy—ensuring we attract, engage, and hire exceptional talent across health plan, IT, marketing, finance, clinical roles, and more!
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, a champion for improving hiring practices, and a people leader who empowers recruiters to do their best work.
  • Manage and oversee operational Talent Acquisition staff and system-wide Talent Acquisition initiatives.
  • Lead the operational framework for the system's Talent Acquisition strategy, providing strategic programs and policies to drive contemporary Talent Acquisition practices.
  • Influence outcomes and communicate closely with Talent Acquisition Recruiters and Specialists by sharing best practices and using a customer-focused approach to understanding the needs of hiring leaders.
  • Oversee the effective attraction, screening, selection, and development of a high-performing, diverse, and sustainable talent pipeline to drive business results in alignment with organizational and functional HR strategies.
  • Effectively maintain confidentiality and operate with efficiency/integrity within a rapidly changing environment.
  • Drive organizational dedication, accountability, and deliver operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading operational talent acquisition teams
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into execution
  • Exceptional stakeholder partnership and communication skills
  • Passion for candidate experience, innovation, and inclusive hiring
  • Strong experience with Workday Recruiting and incorporating AI-driven recruiting workflows for high-volume recruiting optimization
  • Ability to lead through change and deliver results in a complex organization
  • Willingness to travel for onsite events and meetings as needed (primarily in Virginia Beach, VA)
