About the role
- Develops and maintains enterprise architecture roadmaps, target architectures, transition plans, and reference models that align IT capabilities with organizational strategies, mission priorities, and Department of War (DoW) objectives
- Leads the creation, validation, maintenance, and governance of architectural artifacts and viewpoints using Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) standards to enable capability analysis, interoperability, reuse of data, and executive decision support
- Conducts architectural analyses, including current-state assessments, gap/fit analyses, maturity evaluations, and risk assessments across business, data, application, technology, and security domains to identify opportunities and recommend improvements
- Collaborates with senior stakeholders, program offices, CIO elements, and cross-functional teams to integrate enterprise architecture into strategic planning, investment prioritization, capital planning, and acquisition processes
- Prepares and delivers high-impact Executive/C-Suite level briefings and presentations, translating complex architectural concepts, analyses, recommendations, and program progress into actionable insights for senior leadership
- Provides strategic guidance on emerging technologies, standards compliance, interoperability challenges, and risk mitigation strategies to advance enterprise-wide IT maturity, mission effectiveness, and alignment with federal IT policies
Requirements
- Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance
- 15 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 13 years with a Master's degree; 10 years with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 19 years of relevant experience
- Deep knowledge of enterprise information technology (IT) architectural concepts, patterns, and frameworks (e.g., baseline, validated, and target architectures; reference models)
- Proven expertise in aligning organizational strategies, goals, and objectives with enterprise architecture to support mission outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and govern architectures and frameworks in compliance with UAF notation and DoDAF standards
- Strong business acumen, executive presence, and communication skills to influence senior leaders, navigate complex relationships, and deliver briefings to Executive/C-Suite audiences
- Self-directed with excellent judgment; operates independently while proactively seeking leadership guidance when appropriate
- Exceptional briefing, presentation, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills
- Experience in federal government environments (preferably DoW), with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
