About the role
- Act as intermediary between funds and investment managers and serve as official record keeper for funds
- Price and maintain timely records for hedge and private equity holdings using external pricing resources
- Perform timely reconciliations regarding Net Asset Values and provide accounting reports
- Communicate transactions associated with funds and provide accurate accounting packages
- Coordinate and support year-end audit engagements in accordance with GAAP
- Perform due-diligence to ensure client compliance with laws and regulations
- Train and supervise accounting analysts on systems, processing, procedures, and responsibilities
- Manage team environment encouraging self-motivation and organization
- Review analysts' work for error-free reconciliations and reporting
- Correspond with external investment managers regarding fund inquiries, reconciliations, deliverables, and escalations
- Assist manager with performance appraisals, one-on-ones, career pathing, and analyst interviews
- Partner with diverse team, attend professional development sessions, and identify process improvements
Requirements
- BA / BS in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum 2 years experience in the fund services industry, alternatives experience preferred
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
