About the role

  • Develop and implement Discrete Event Simulation models using Plant Simulation to optimize automotive production processes.
  • Conduct bottleneck analysis and recommend strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Determine buffer size requirements and assess the impact of different model derivative mixes on production flow.
  • Perform volume throughput increase studies and evaluate system "what-if" scenarios.
  • Ensure process adherence to vehicle derivative sequencing and build-to-sequence rules.
  • Optimize material flows and logistics , including: Onsite material movements (lineside deliveries, marketplace transfers). Material movements between sites to improve supply chain efficiency. AGV quantity estimation and identifying operational hotspots. Racking studies to maximize space and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex data insights into clear recommendations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in automotive production or logistics environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with Witness Discrete Event Simulation toolset.
  • Strong Excel VBA skills for data analysis and model enhancement.
  • Experience in modelling assembly lines to improve efficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on bottleneck analysis and process optimization.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A collaborative team player who can work effectively across departments.
