About the role
- Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Public Affairs
- Works with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to execute strategic communications plans
- Supports and leads communications planning that advances SHN′s strategic plan
- Develops high quality content for the hospital′s various online and print communication vehicles
- Prioritizes work and performs multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines
Requirements
- Completion of a 2-year Community College Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, journalism or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in corporate communications or agency role
- Creative thinker who always pushes the boundaries of what is possible
- Experience in creating compelling communications including all staff memos, key messages, e-newsletters, campaign material, video scripts, remarks, news releases, online stories, posters, Q-and-As, social media posts, etc.
- Familiar with email marketing, online surveys, best practices and tips (i.e. MailChimp)
- Familiar with content management systems such as Word Press, SharePoint etc.
- Skilled in Adobe Photoshop/InDesign, MS Office
- Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills (following Canadian Press Style)
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Excellent work performance and attendance
