About the role
- Direct and lead safe operations for the assigned facility
- Provides direct line responsibility for day support staff
- Provides direct support to the Operations Director and acts on his/her behalf
- Plans, organizes and directs short and long-range resource requirements and programs
- Manages the safe and efficient operation of the facility to meet DOE requirements
- Manages, plans, prioritizes, and coordinates procedures, ticklers, and waste transfers
- Provides direction for team members in support of projects
- Develops and implements the facility mission, vision and principles
- Ensures procedures are consistent for the facility
- Conducts investigations of operations abnormal events
- Provides oversight and assessment of all operations
- Participates as Senior Supervisor during Senior Supervisory Watch
Requirements
- BS in Engineering or related technical or science degree and related experience; or BS in a non-technical discipline and related experience; or High School Diploma or GED and a combination of secondary education and/or experience
- Bachelors of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Engineering preferred
- Experience working in a nuclear facility/site
- Demonstrated leadership experience including previous direct people management
- Project management experience
- Broad understanding of environmental laws and regulations, DOE orders and knowledge of company policies
- Previous or current Shift Operations Manager Qualification preferred
