About the role
- Directs and integrates the activities of work groups assigned to support the safe and efficient management of radiological & industrial safety to include Radiological Protection, Industrial Hygiene, and Safety personnel
- Manages, directs, and integrates the facility's Radiation Protection Program
- Implements Site and DOE level policies through formulation and execution of facility specific plans and procedures
- Ensures facility is in full compliance with all Federal, State, Company, and Site requirements
- Represents S&H Department on radiological protection issues externally and internally
- Develops and implements the facility's business planning systems to efficiently utilize resources
- Provides management leadership to ensure a safety and total quality culture for the facility
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and progressive related experience; or Associates degree and progressive related experience; or High School Diploma or GED and a combination of secondary education and/or related experience
- Nuclear experience is required.
- Managers must receive facility-specific training based upon a comparison of the individual's background and abilities with the responsibilities and duties of the position.
- This position falls under DOE Order 426.2 and as such must meet the conditions of the order
- 4+ years nuclear experience, preferably in the Liquid Waste and/or DOE Complex Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certified
