About the role
- Own and execute the overall marketing and communications strategy in line with company objectives
- Translate company direction into clear quarterly priorities, plans, and deliverables
- Identify, deprioritise, and stop low-impact or distracting initiatives
- Ensure marketing efforts support adoption, credibility, and fundraising outcomes
- Own Vexl’s public narrative and positioning
- Actively shaping content ideas and messaging (including drafting and refining them)
- Ensure clear, consistent, and accurate communication across all channels
- Maintain narrative coherence across content, PR, events, and community communications
- Define and enforce quality standards for all public-facing outputs
- Lead senior marketing contributors and define clear responsibilities and expectations
- Work directly on key outputs (content drafts, messaging, etc.). Especially at the beginning, this role is hands-on.
- Provide continuous, hands-on mentorship in marketing strategy, storytelling, content, and PR
- Own PR strategy, including story angles, media targets, podcasts, and conference positioning
- Oversee preparation of press materials, messaging frameworks, and spokesperson briefings
- Ensure events and public appearances are aligned with marketing objectives and narrative priorities
- Ensure community activities support defined marketing priorities and adoption goals
- Define what community efforts should amplify and what falls outside scope in coordination with community managers
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or PR, with ownership of strategy and execution
- Fluent in English (B2+)
- Proven experience working as a senior individual contributor or lead in a lean environment
- Strong understanding of narrative development, positioning, and public communication
- Demonstrated ability to translate high-level direction into clear priorities, plans, and deliverables
- Experience mentoring or guiding senior contributors in marketing, content, or communications
- Ability to work with cross-functional and distributed teams, including volunteers or community contributors
- Alignment with Bitcoin, privacy, and sovereignty values, or strong motivation to work in this space
- Experience with PR, media outreach, or spokesperson preparation is a plus
- Familiarity with open-source environments, including cooperation with volunteers or community contributors would be an advantage
- Experience working with creators (video, design, editorial) without micromanaging execution is welcome but not required
