Design and implement warehouse layouts, racking, shelving, staging, and work areas; define material flow and specify material handling equipment.
Develop SOPs for receiving, kitting, staging, and shipping; apply Lean/Six Sigma to reduce waste and optimize throughput; lead kaizen and continuous improvement.
Configure and optimize Warehouse Management Systems within ERP/MES; champion digital tools (barcode/RFID, IoT, real-time tracking); define traceability and serialization requirements for ITAR/DFARS.
Act as technical authority for warehouse/material movement; train and mentor staff; collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and Program teams; interface with senior leadership on capacity planning and investment roadmaps.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in warehouse design, material handling, or manufacturing process engineerin.
Demonstrated expertise in warehouse layout, space utilization, and process optimization.
Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement practices.
Hands-on experience with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, DELMIA, etc.).
Ability to work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with evolving requirements.
Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations (preferred).
Experience in defense, aerospace, shipbuilding, or other regulated manufacturing environments (preferred).
Familiarity with DoD/DFARS compliance for material handling and traceability (preferred).
