About the role
- Interface with clients and execute radiological engineering project work
- Work with multi-discipline engineering teams designing upgrades and modifications to new and existing nuclear power plants
- Perform radiological dose calculations
- Perform radiation source term calculations
- Design radiation monitoring systems
- Travel to client offices and plant site locations for project meetings and site walk-downs (domestic and international travel to Europe, Asia, Middle East possible)
- Address emergent issues and provide technical support to clients
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
- A minimum of 7 years of experience with radiation monitoring systems
- Knowledge of types of radiation detectors, their operation, signal processing, and mechanical/electrical interfaces with plant systems
- Experience with calibration and detection capability of radiation monitoring systems including primary, secondary/transfer, energy calibrations, energy response characteristics, and reference isotopes
- Working knowledge of NRC regulations and guidance applicable to licensing and license renewal of nuclear power plants
- Experience with relevant computer programs (specific programs listed in original posting)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- PE license desired but not required
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally to client offices and plant sites
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; employer will not sponsor work authorization
