Product Designer

• Partner with product managers and engineers on every new feature, translating product intent into clear, consistent, and usable designs within the current platform
• Define shared standards for color, typography, spacing, and interaction patterns, and build a reusable React component library that the rest of the engineering team can adopt for new features
• Review the current state of the platform's UI, identify inconsistencies accumulated over time, and incrementally improve and unify it with the design system
• Prototype and ship production-quality React code for design system components and new feature UI, working directly alongside engineers rather than handing off static designs
• Work closely with your engineering team lead, product managers, and domain experts to understand user needs and translate them into effective interfaces for complex scientific data

Backend Engineer

• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code backed by thorough unit and regression tests
• Develop core C++ applications and libraries for importing and analyzing genetic data
• Take complete ownership of projects from design through testing and deployment
• Assist in the optimization and architecture of the platform for maximum speed and scalability
• Maintain and improve internal high-performance clinical annotation tools
• Contribute to clear, lasting documentation of software architecture and implementation details
• Partner with backend engineers, bioinformaticians, and product stakeholders to deliver cohesive features

• Build and maintain a pipeline for calling variants from genomic data, both ad hoc and using modern pipelining tools like Prefect
• Ensure pipelines are reproducible, scalable, and adhere to best practices in data analysis

• Contribute to clear, lasting documentation of software architecture and implementation details so the team can build on.
• Partner with backend engineers, bioinformaticians, and product stakeholders to scope work, align on interfaces, and deliver cohesive end-to-end features.

Business Development Rep

• Grow business within the Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) region, specifically targeting the NGS bioinformatics market.
• Use the VarSome.com community to generate new leads for VarSome Premium, VarSome Clinical and VarSome API.
• Establish and maintain successful relationships with clients and partners to ensure the successful adoption of our products.
• Jointly with the responsible application scientist, understand current and future needs to maximize value and drive incremental business from the existing client base.
• Evaluate competitors’ sales strategies and value propositions, providing critical feedback to the Application Science and Product teams.
• Collaborate with the Product team to translate market needs into clear and specific product requirements, influencing the product development roadmap.
• Partner with marketing and commercial teams to refine brand positioning and implement high-impact communication strategies.
