About the role
- Report to the Global Scientific Director and lead global scientific communications for dermatology indications for dupilumab
- Ensure development and execution of strategic scientific communication and publication plans for dermatology indications
- Lead cross-functional strategic publication planning and execution and oversee medical communication/education planning efforts
- Develop strategically aligned, balanced, and accurate scientific communication points for global and local medical communications
- Engage with internal stakeholders to drive data generation strategy and incorporate insights to inform publication strategy and medical communication materials
- Collaborate with external authors and academic experts to execute high-quality publications and medical education materials
- Oversee congress strategy and execution, including booth design, scientific symposia, and partnerships with congress associations
- Manage medical communication agencies to optimize operational and cost efficiency and foster partnership and innovation
- Leverage AI-based strategies for content creation and customization
- Ensure delivery of fair-balanced, scientifically/clinically accurate medical communications resources (scientific platforms, lexicons, FAQs, trainings, disease backgrounders)
- Develop global medical education plans and design educational content for live, online/digital, multi & omnichannel HCP education, field medical tools, slide decks, and medical booth exhibits
- Assess impact of materials and approaches using KPIs and ROI metrics and modify strategies in an agile and compliant manner
- Forecast annual med com/education budgets and resource needs; contract agency support and manage finance reconciliations, invoicing, and accruals
- Communicate status of med com/education and publication plans and key activities to relevant stakeholders
Requirements
- Advance degree in life sciences or pharmaceutical sciences (PhD, PharmD, MD)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry (may include agency experience)
- Proven track record of successfully developing strategic publication plans and/or scientific communications/medical education
- Demonstrated scientific acumen with ability to interpret and critique scientific data
- Experience in the analysis, communication, and presentation of complex scientific and medical data
- Experience leading global congress strategies, including booths, symposia, and standalone events
- Demonstrated excellence in omnichannel strategy development and execution
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
- Experience in Medical/Legal review committees and familiarity with Veeva/Promomats/4M or similar content review systems preferred
- Vendor, project timeline, and budget management experience
- Knowledge of industry guidelines (ICMJE/GPP, PhRMA Code, AdvaMed guidelines, EFPIA/IFPMA)
- Expertise in Immunology/biologics preferred
- Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strategic leadership and project & budget management capabilities
- Commitment to professional integrity and compliance with applicable regulations
- Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally
