About the role

  • Ensure that all communication and operational processes within Sanlam Umbrella Solutions adhere to regulatory requirements, internal governance standards, and brand guidelines
  • Manage compliance-related documentation and support audits
  • Drive clear, accurate, and timely communication to stakeholders, including clients, intermediaries, and internal teams
  • Maintain accurate compliance records and assist with internal and external audits
  • Ensure adherence to Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles and other governance frameworks
  • Develop and manage client facing and internal communication material in line with brand and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to ensure messaging consistency and accuracy
  • Manage updates to forms, policy documents, brochures, and digital content
  • Act as a liaison between compliance, product, and operational teams to ensure alignment
  • Prepare compliance reports for management and regulatory bodies
  • Identify and mitigate communication related risks

Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Compliance, Communications, or Financial Services (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in compliance and/or communications within the financial services industry
  • Experience in retirement funds, umbrella funds, or employee benefits
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
  • Strong understanding of FSCA regulations, Pension Funds Act, and related legislation.
  • Ability to interpret and apply compliance requirements in practical scenarios
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and consistently meet deadlines
  • Proactive attitude with strong attention to detail
  • Innovative mindset and demonstrates initiative
  • Team-oriented approach with a willingness to contribute beyond core responsibilities.
